FOTEP is a professional DJ service. You can expect several things from FOTEP: A music and entertainment professional -- Above all else, you can expect your experience with FOTEP to be handled in a professional manner from start to end. Your DJ is there to make you and your event a success. That is his only priority. He will be attentive and treat the event as his only job, because it is. No prattling at the microphone -- You aren't hiring a comedian. You are hiring a DJ. The job of that DJ is, first and foremost, to play the music you want to hear and, in a close second, to provide the visual atmosphere to make your event an enjoyable one. Your DJ is happy to meet your needs by making announcements and setting equipment up so you can speak to the audience, but your DJ won't talk just to hear the sound of his own voice. Audience appropriate music -- Before your event, your DJ will work with you to gauge your needs and what will be appropriate for your event and your audience. This means working with you to choose music that is appropriate to your event and your guests. Dress that is appropriate to your event -- Whether your event is shirt and tie or jeans and T-shirt, your DJ will dress appropriately. Expect a professional appearance that won't be overdone or be under-dressed for the occasion. Our approach is to dress just a touch more casually than the host (it is your time to shine) but never sloppily or inappropriately. Professional sound and lighting equipment -- Your DJ can only do his best when he is working with equipment that sounds good and looks good. The sound system he will bring to your event will have the quality and power that is needed to meet your needs. The lights will be enough to give the right feel to your dance floor or we won't take the job. FOTEP can't do an arena event justice so we won't sign up for it. Back-up equipment so your event isn't ruined should the worst happen -- Replacement equipment will on hand to be quickly rolled in should there be a problem. We can't predict failures, but we can be prepared for them. FOTEP wants your event to be a success and we want to do our part to keep it on track. The DJ that you hired -- FOTEP is a small company, not a management firm that throws a DJ at a project at the last minute or switches the DJ on you without notice. The DJ you talk to is your DJ. If we can't make every reasonable guarantee that he will take your event from start to finish, we won't do the event. Play list before your event -- In many situations, the music is so important that it must be completely planned out in advance. For this reason, FOTEP offers to work with you and deliver a complete list of the songs that are to be played at your event, with alternates if you like. You may leave the choice of music completely up to us or be directly involved yourself, it is up to you. Lyric sheets of all planned music upon request -- The music must meet your standards. To best accomplish this, you may request the lyrics of any or all of the songs that are planned to be played at your event. We want you to be completely comfortable with the music since it is your event. Requests played within your specification -- Even when an event has the songs planned out in advance, we are happy to take requests and play them in a manner that you like. If the event is completely free-form, we'll stick to your guidelines. If you want someone to approve all songs, we'll call up the lyrics right then for their review. Pre-event planning time, with you, included in the price -- FOTEP doesn't just show up to an event and play it by ear. You are paying for a professional and that means that we need to understand the goals and needs of your event. So we include two hours of face to face time with you (plus email follow-ups) in your services agreement. If you need more time with us, we will talk about how that can be accomplished. A written and signed agreement/contract -- No one likes surprises and FOTEP works to keep them from happening. So right up front, we prepare a written agreement between FOTEP and you so we each know what the plan is. You need to be assured of what FOTEP can and will be doing and FOTEP must understand your needs and have them written down so we can best meet them. Discounts for non-profit youth groups -- FOTEP was initially established to offer low cost entertainment for non-profit youth groups. We continue to make this service our primary goal. Youth groups will find that FOTEP charges half of its standard rates so you can get have a great event and not break the bank. FM radio simulcast if required -- If you need the music or your announcements of your event in more than one place allow FOTEP to set up a full sound system in your primary event location and transmit the program to wherever else you need it (nearby). With this option, all you need is a standard FM receiver and speakers to cover as much area as you'd like. (At this time FOTEP does not offer a second DJ solely for the purpose of monitoring remote sound equipment because we feel that it is an unreasonable expense to have to pass along to our clients.)
